Back to HomeHow We Work
Our Educational Approach
Every Concordia session is designed around the same core principle: provide information and transferable skills, then leave participants to decide what to do with them. We do not diagnose, direct, or advise. We teach, reflect, and equip.
Our facilitation style is calm, neutral, and structured. Sessions move at a deliberate pace — neither rushed nor meandering. Each element is introduced before being explored, and no participant is ever put on the spot or asked to share more than they are ready to.
All three programmes can be attended as standalone experiences. There is no required sequence, no bundling, and no expectation of ongoing attendance.
Clear Structure from the Start
Session outlines are shared with registered participants in advance. No surprises, no ambiguity about what to expect.
Confidentiality Throughout
What is shared in the room stays in the room. Facilitators hold this standard and set it clearly at the start of each session.
Regularly Reviewed Content
Session materials are reviewed at least once a year to keep content aligned with current research in family communication and adult learning.
Family Communication Workshop
A guided group session focused on listening, expressing needs, and reducing friction in everyday family life. This is a reflective, educational experience — not a facilitated intervention. Participants explore concepts and practise exercises together in a supportive group setting.
Includes practical exercises designed to continue at home. No preparation is required beforehand, and attendance by multiple family members is welcome but not required.
- Active listening and reflective speaking skills
- Expressing needs without blame or escalation
- Recognising common communication patterns
- Take-home exercises for continued practice
How a session typically flows:
- 1Welcome and session overview (no surprises)
- 2Introduction to listening concepts with group reflection
- 3Practical paired and group exercises
- 4Take-home exercise walkthrough and close
Mediation-Support Information Session
An informational session explaining how respectful, voluntary mediation conversations are generally structured, and how to prepare for them calmly. This session covers process and communication skills only — it does not address any specific dispute or provide any form of facilitated mediation.
A preparation worksheet is included. This session is suitable for individuals who want to understand what the mediation process looks like before deciding whether to pursue it through appropriate professional channels.
- How voluntary mediation processes are typically structured
- Communication skills that support calm preparation
- Understanding the role of a neutral mediator
- Preparation worksheet included for personal use
Session structure:
- 1Introduction to mediation as a general process
- 2Communication skills for calm, prepared conversations

Co-Coordination Skills Programme
A multi-week educational programme for parents and family members who coordinate shared responsibilities — focused on scheduling, clear communication, and cooperative planning. All content is skills-based and general in scope, not tailored to any individual arrangement or situation.
Includes shared templates and a structured session plan participants can use independently. Well suited to anyone navigating the practical side of shared household or family coordination.
- Scheduling frameworks and coordination tools
- Communication skills for cooperative planning
- Handling disagreements in shared logistics calmly
- Shared templates for ongoing independent use
Programme structure:
- 1Session 1: Foundations of cooperative planning
- 2Session 2: Scheduling and shared tools
